Book cover for Noget om Vitus
Noget om Vitus (“About Vitus”), the first novel by Sigurd Hartkorn Plaetner, is about big emotions, from the deepest despair to the most delirious happiness. It is also a book where sickness and death play important roles.
For both these reasons an anatomical depiction of a human heart seemed appropriate. A heart is probably the symbol of emotion, but in an anatomical context it also clearly refers to sickness, or at least something different than a simple love story. We’ve aimed for a big, striking illustration. The heart is from a historic plate, beautiful in itself, with the author’s name and the title scrawled across it.
